Comfortable Atmosphere in Meeting Between Berri and Al-Thani

Informed sources revealed to Al-Jumhuriya newspaper that the discussions held by Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani with Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh were comfortable, with a clear alignment on the urgency of forming a government.

The Speaker reiterated his position regarding the formation of this government, emphasizing that it should be done yesterday rather than today, a stance he has maintained since Saad Hariri was tasked months ago, recognizing that every delay exacerbates the crisis and inflicts significant harm on Lebanon. He also reiterated the initiative he launched a few days ago, which he still considers the only means to meet the French initiative for forming a specialist government as soon as possible.

In a related context, there were unconfirmed reports about Qatari communication with the Prime Minister-designate accompanying or preceding the Qatari Foreign Minister's visit to Beirut.

The Qatari Foreign Minister arrived in Lebanon last Tuesday and expressed during his talk with reporters that the formation of the government is an internal matter, and Qatar has good relations with all parties. He stated that Qatar will support any path leading to the formation of a government in Lebanon, "as all the countries we are in contact with now support the formation of a government in Lebanon."

He clarified that Qatar does not seek to undermine the French initiative but rather works to complete international efforts to form a government, emphasizing that the Qatari Emir sends a message of support to the Lebanese people to prioritize national interest over personal interests.
