Three children in the Al-Ramel Al-Janoobi neighborhood of Lattakia, Syria, lost their lives due to a fire that broke out in their home caused by an electrical short circuit.
According to the Al-Watan newspaper, a fire erupted in a house belonging to a person named Fahmi Haso, which was under renovation in the southern chalets area of Al-Ramel Al-Janoobi. The fire led to the death of three children who were asleep inside the house: Zuleikha, Bashar, and Saddam, aged between eight and twelve years. The electronic site of Al-Watan reported that the preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was caused by leaving the heater connected to the electricity while the children were sleeping and their mother was outside the house.
Immediately, police patrols from the Southern Ramel police station and the Lattakia firefighting brigade arrived to extinguish the fire. A medical and judicial inspection team and a forensic evidence unit from the Criminal Security branch in Lattakia also attended, and investigations are still ongoing.
A report was received by the Lattakia firefighting brigade at ten pm on Saturday regarding a fire in a house under renovation. When the firefighting personnel arrived to extinguish the blaze, they found the bodies of the children inside, who had died from the fire before their mother could return home.
