Death of the Famous Saudi Camel Herder Shouma Al-Anzi

After a struggle with illness, the famous Saudi camel herder Shouma Al-Anzi passed away on Saturday at Al-Qurayyat General Hospital in the north of the Kingdom. It is noted that Al-Anzi had been hospitalized for 20 days, but her condition deteriorated significantly. Social media was abuzz with news of her passing, and videos of her from when she was admitted to the hospital surfaced, showing her reciting poetry amidst the wilderness with her camels.

Shouma Al-Anzi, who was over 90 years old, gained fame in the Gulf countries due to her advanced age and her lifelong companionship with camels since she was a young girl. She is distinguished by her resilience and work ethic despite her old age. In one of her television appearances, she mentioned that she had been caring for camels for approximately 30 years after her husband's death, as her children were young and required both care and sufficient financial support.
