Halima Boland shared a photo of herself on her Snapchat account, dressed in clothing and holding a bag that resembled the Kuwaiti passport, captioning it: "What are your plans for National Day?"
The famous Kuwaiti media personality's celebration provoked strong reactions from her followers and social media users, with many expressing their anger while others mocked her. One commenter noted that her celebration was inappropriate given the state of national mourning in the artistic and media circles in Kuwait following the passing of her fellow artist Mishari Balam due to complications from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, others criticized her outfit, asserting that Kuwait deserves more than such triviality, as she appeared in attire resembling the Kuwaiti passport. Many were also taken aback by her appearance following her recent cosmetic surgeries. Kuwait's National Day is an official holiday commemorating the country's independence from the United Kingdom on June 19, 1961, during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
Recently, Boland also attracted attention after receiving a diamond-studded watch valued at one million Saudi riyals from a fan for Valentine's Day this February.
