Biden Caught Swearing at Journalist During White House Event

U.S. President Joe Biden was caught on Monday, January 24, using profanity towards a journalist from Fox News, referring to him as a "stupid son of a bitch" during a photo session at the White House. As reporters were about to leave, Fox News correspondent, popular among conservatives, asked President Biden if inflation was a political burden ahead of the midterm elections. The Democratic president, likely unaware that his microphone was still on, responded sarcastically, "It's a great asset, more inflation," before muttering, "What a stupid son of a bitch." A journalist present said he could not hear Biden's remarks due to the noise, but added, "Listen to the video recording of the event if you're curious to know how the president really feels when Peter Doocy, the Fox News correspondent, asks him about inflation." In an interview on Fox News, Doocy ignored Biden's insult and nonchalantly replied, "No one has confirmed what he said so far and found it to be untrue." Doocy later confirmed that Biden called him within an hour and said, "It's not personal, my friend." Previously, the White House would rush to clarify any gaffe by Biden or retract it. However, this time the White House seemed unbothered by confirming Biden's remarks towards Doocy, as the transcript of the session included the president's full comment, indicating that the phrase would be officially recorded in history. New York Times reporter Katie Rogers tweeted a photo from the session’s transcript showing Biden's insult.
