Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has returned to the presidential palace in Kyiv for the first time publicly since the outbreak of war, documenting the occasion with a video in which he stated that he fears no one. Later, Zelensky gave an interview to American network ABC News, where he confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not stop at Ukraine, warning that he would "devour" other NATO countries.
In a video shot with a smartphone, Zelensky toured the presidential residence in downtown Kyiv, writing in English: "I am in Kyiv, at Bankova (where the presidential residence is located), without hiding and without fear of anyone, and I will do everything necessary to win this war." This marks Zelensky’s first public return to the presidential palace since the war began on February 24, as he had been staying in a secure location.
During the television interview, Zelensky urged U.S. President Joe Biden to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine. The Ukrainian president has repeatedly called on the United States and the West to enforce a no-fly zone to neutralize Russian air superiority, but this has not happened. He mentioned that he spoke with Biden last Saturday for 40 minutes regarding this issue.
Zelensky emphasized that the "monster Putin" would not stop once he invaded Ukraine. He added, "We are first, and you (the West) will be in the second phase... the more this monster eats, the more it wants." He described his country as a free zone that needs protection, stating, "When the boundaries of rights and freedoms are violated and interfered with, you (referring to the West) must protect us."
