Good News for Soldiers... Any Assistance Will Be Disbursed for Salaries!

Army Commander Joseph Aoun pointed out that the leadership will spare no effort in seeking assistance from brotherly and friendly countries to help the military get through this phase. During his attendance at a live ammunition combat drill in the Akkar Plain area, Aoun noted that the grant announced by Qatar will be allocated to support the salaries of the soldiers as soon as it is received, emphasizing that the military institution is making significant efforts to ensure medical care for military personnel and their families and to develop it in a manner befitting them.

In this context, questions arise about how the leadership will allocate the Qatari grant of $60 million that was announced about a week ago to support the army, which is facing major difficulties in securing its basic needs amid the economic crisis that is affecting the country. An informed source told "Akhbar Al-Yawm" agency that it is premature to raise this issue because "the funds have not arrived yet," indicating that they will be allocated to support military salaries, as stated by General Aoun, but the exact percentages have not yet been determined.

Additionally, a political reference noted to "Akhbar Al-Yawm" that the Qatari grant, which is not the first of its kind—regardless of the amounts—reflects confidence in the military institution, while all humanitarian or social assistance that has come to civil society bodies or relevant institutions has bypassed state ministries and their administrations. The reference pointed out that the assistance, whether social or military, which has been coming to the military institution for years, is always allocated and utilized in the appropriate manner and with transparency.
