"Abu Dhabi Tourism" Participates in the Arabian Travel Market at Dubai World Trade Centre

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi is participating in the 28th edition of the Arabian Travel Market 2021, the largest in-person travel and tourism event since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the event will be held in a hybrid format at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 16 to 19, and a virtual version will follow from May 24 to 26, 2021. In line with this year's theme, "A New Dawn for Travel and Tourism," the exhibition will primarily highlight ways to reactivate the travel and tourism sectors.

During the exhibition, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi will unveil its plans to resume tourism activities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as the campaigns and initiatives it is preparing to launch during the upcoming summer and winter seasons. Ali Hassan Al Shaiba, Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing at the Department, stated that the department looks forward to its participation in the Arabian Travel Market as a great opportunity to connect with travel and tourism leaders in the region and discuss new collaboration opportunities to invigorate the tourism sector and achieve full recovery.

He added that over the past period, the department's team has made diligent efforts through continuous work to launch initiatives that have played a prominent role in revitalizing the tourism sector in the emirate while ensuring the health and safety of residents and visitors. As the department prepares to launch its new strategy while welcoming a larger influx of visitors from additional destinations in the near future, they are excited to share their plans and agenda with travel and tourism leaders and the media during the exhibition.

The participation of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi in the 2021 edition of the Arabian Travel Market is a continuation of its efforts to invigorate the tourism sector, based on its commitment to support local partners and stakeholders, as well as to gain the trust of investors and tourists in the region and globally through a series of innovative initiatives launched in the past. These include the pioneering "Go Safe" certificate program that ensures all hotels and tourism facilities adhere to the highest global health and safety standards.

In another context, the current edition of the exhibition will feature the debut of "Wizz Air" as a strategic partner alongside the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi. Last year, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Abu Dhabi made significant strides in enriching its tourism offerings, including the opening of several new projects, notably the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, the Al Hudayriyat leisure area, and the anticipated launch of the new airport complex.
