Lebanon to the World Cup

The Lebanese men's basketball team has qualified for the World Championship finals, which will be hosted in five cities next year in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, by defeating the Indian team 95 - 63 (scores: 27 - 17, 49 - 29, 71 - 42, 95 - 63) in a match held this afternoon, concluding the fourth window. This is Lebanon's fourth qualification for the World Championship finals after 2002, 2006, and 2010. It should be noted that they participated in the last finals with a special invitation ("wild card"), having previously qualified twice through the Asian Championship in 2001 and 2005, where they finished as runners-up to China in Shanghai and Doha, respectively, before the qualification system for the World Championship was changed.
