Microsoft Temporarily Cuts Donations to Officials

Microsoft has begun the process of temporarily cutting donations to officials who voted against certifying President Joe Biden's election win, as well as those who supported efforts to overturn his victory.

Fred Humphries, Vice President of Microsoft, stated that voluntary donations from employees, shareholders, and family members through a Microsoft-affiliated group will be cut off from those legislators during the 2022 election cycle. He added that the company's political action committee will create an initiative to support campaign finance reform and voter rights. Humphries had previously stated, "We believe these steps are appropriate given the importance of these issues to the stability and future of American democracy."
