The Army Command – Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement: "On May 19, 2022, in the city of Baalbek, the wanted person (A.H.J.), accompanied by (A.M.J.), (A.A.J.), and his brothers (M.A.J.) and (M.A.J.), opened fire towards a shop belonging to citizen (W.R.), resulting in his death and injuring (M.D.B.) and (B.A.R.).
Immediately, army units deployed reinforced patrols and implemented security measures in the area, raiding homes suspected of harboring the shooters. Armed individuals opened fire into the air upon the arrival of army units.
As a result of the raids, a military weapon, two hunting rifles, a quantity of drugs, military ammunition, and surveillance cameras were seized. The pursuit of the shooters is ongoing to arrest them and refer them to the competent judiciary."
