The Red Sea Ports Authority in Egypt has announced the closure of Sharm El-Sheikh Port in South Sinai due to bad weather, strong winds, and very rough sea conditions. All maritime activities on small and large vessels have been halted to ensure the safety of maritime navigation. The local unit of the city has declared a state of maximum emergency and is taking all necessary precautionary measures in anticipation of rainfall, deploying heavy equipment on main roads to clear sand accumulations. Major General Mohamed El-Raheem, head of the authority, emphasized the importance of taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of navigation aids at port entrances and exits, coordinating with the General Authority for Meteorology to ensure maritime safety, and prohibiting maritime activities to protect lives and public and private property.
