Under the title "Ihlam Shahin Reveals: I Will Donate My Organs After My Death," the Al Arabiya website reported a surprising announcement from the Egyptian actress Ihlam Shahin, stating her intention to donate her organs after her death. In a phone interview with media personality Amr Adib during the program "Al Hikaya" aired on MBC Egypt, Shahin confirmed that she has intended to donate her human organs since her mother's lifetime and has informed her family about it and made her wishes clear to them.
She also revealed that the initiative was suggested by Dr. Khaled Montaser, whom she fully supports. Shahin expressed that she agreed and was encouraged by this decision because the body would have no benefit after death. Therefore, if her organs could help another person, she sees no reason not to contribute to their healing.
Additionally, she clarified that she has no objection to medical students using her body for purely scientific purposes, expressing her full support for this. She believes families should respect the wishes of any individual who chooses to donate their organs and called for a legal framework regarding this matter.
