The Omani club Al-Rustaq announced on its Twitter account the death of player Mundhir Al-Harasi at one of the artificial grass fields. Many agencies and newspapers reported that the player's death was due to a heart attack, although Al-Rustaq did not disclose further details.
In a tweet, the Omani club stated: "The board of directors expresses its heartfelt condolences and sympathy for the former club player, Ali bin Said bin Masoud Al-Harasi, in the death of his son Mundhir. Condolences are also extended to the entire team, management, and members. May God accept the deceased in His vast mercy and grant his family patience and solace. We are for God and to Him we shall return."
In another tweet, the board thanked everyone who reached out to offer condolences for the late Mundhir, son of former club player Ali bin Said Al-Harasi, who passed away on Saturday evening at an artificial grass field in Al-Mawaleh in the Muscat Governorate. The club prayed that may the Almighty not allow anyone to face any harm. We are for God and to Him we shall return.
