Title: Power Generator Shutdowns and Arrests in Sidon

This afternoon, the ongoing crisis between electricity generator owners and several local figures and residents who subscribe to these generators escalated. This was due to the generator owners' refusal to adhere to the pricing set by the Ministry of Energy, as they claimed it was not feasible for them.

Following a complaint lodged by MP Osama Saad against the "mafia" of generator owners for not complying with the Ministry's pricing, 17 generator owners were summoned to the Sidon police station to sign an undertaking to adhere to the official pricing. However, they refused this procedure, leading to the arrest of several of them.

In response to the arrests, the generator owners resorted to turning off their generators as a new challenge to the citizens and local figures.

A delegation of generator owners had suggested placing the generators under judicial guardianship, proposing that the municipality operate them, but their request was rejected.
