An education expert revealed her trick to get children to set aside video games without parents having to shout and argue with them.
Lisa Bonag wrote on her TikTok page, "Let me set the scenario. My child is eight years old – he constantly plays video games. I tell him to stop, but he doesn’t. No matter how hard I try to get him to get up and stop playing, he doesn’t respond even if I do it forcefully."
At this point, Lisa advises leaving the child alone and not trying any further, even if they continue playing all day. When evening comes, Lisa recommends disconnecting everything from the child, even turning off the television and hiding it if necessary.
The next morning, when the child wakes up and asks what’s going on, you should say, "Remember you were rude to me yesterday when I asked you to turn off the video game? Repeat this for two days, and you will see what happens."
Lisa continued, "Don't try to explain further, that's all. Discuss it again in two days. This method involves guidance and directing. It teaches him how to be nice, which is what you want to achieve."
Many commenters praised Lisa’s method in the video, with several confirming that it successfully kept their children away from video games in a timely manner. One commenter noted, "I love this method, it’s amazing," while another user added, "It’s exactly what I did with my son's Xbox, and it was highly successful."
