Directly... After 5 Days of Falling, Child Rayan Rescued from Well

Rescue teams successfully rescued the Moroccan child Rayan safely and alive after he spent 5 days trapped inside a well 32 meters deep underground. Rescue teams reached Rayan, who is 5 years old, on Saturday, and the resuscitation team prepared him inside the tunnel before bringing him out on a stretcher. Moroccan authorities had brought an ambulance and a helicopter equipped for resuscitation to transport the child to the hospital quickly once he was retrieved.

Informed sources reported that Rayan suffered fractures from falling into the well from a great height. Hundreds of people gathered at the well site to support the rescue workers and await the operation to extract the child, while others volunteered to assist in the excavation process, led by "Uncle Ali," who spearheaded efforts to dig a horizontal tunnel parallel to the well and gained widespread popularity due to his efforts.

The attempts to rescue Rayan began at the onset of the crisis with individuals practicing what is known as spelunking descending into the well; however, the narrow diameter of the well prevented them from reaching the trapped child. The child fell to a depth exceeding 30 meters, while the volunteers could not descend more than 20 meters, leading to a shift in focus toward an alternative rescue plan.

According to the approved plan, rescue teams established a large hole parallel to the location where Rayan had fallen, and once they reached the depth he was at, they began horizontal digging. On Tuesday, Rayan fell into a deep well in a village belonging to the province of Chefchaouen in northern Morocco. Videos circulated on Thursday showing him still moving slightly, which revived hopes for his rescue while still alive.
