Kuwait was struck by an earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale, felt by residents in some areas, according to the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research. The institute tweeted: "The Kuwait National Seismic Network recorded a magnitude 5 earthquake southwest of Ahmadi today, Saturday, 4/6/2022, at precisely 04:28:02 AM Kuwait time, at a depth of 5 kilometers beneath the earth's surface." It added, "Many citizens and residents across the country also felt it." The National Center for Meteorology in the UAE reported that the earthquake that hit Kuwait was measured at 5.5 on the Richter scale, according to the recordings from the national seismic network stations. Users on social media shared photos and videos showing the impact on some homes and public places due to the earthquake that struck Kuwait early Saturday.
