Mikati Calls Abbas to Offer Condolences on Abu Aqleh's Death: One of the Bravest Journalists

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati honored the spirit of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, who was martyred today by Israeli occupation forces while covering events in the Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin. Mikati made a call to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, offering his condolences to him and the Palestinian people for the martyrdom of one of the bravest journalists over the years in facing the oppression of the Israeli occupation and its practices against the Palestinian people. He stated, "The martyrdom of Abu Aqleh serves as a badge of honor upon the forehead of the Palestinian people who confront the Israeli occupation with courage and determination, and it is a disgrace to the occupation that continues its tyranny and robs Palestinians of their rights."
