The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stated that "coming to Lebanon at this time, given its difficult circumstances that we all feel, is a message from Arab countries that we support seeking settlements and stand by Lebanon in its discussions with the International Monetary Fund." He added during a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib: "We discussed various topics in the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers, including the upcoming summit, its preparations, the date, and the attendees. We also discussed the situation in Syria and touched on the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on our region."
For his part, Bou Habib pointed out that "the discussions were constructive, and we addressed the issue of supporting the state and its institutions, presenting the difficult conditions experienced by Lebanon and its people." He also considered in his speech during the meeting that "the Kuwaiti initiative has succeeded," praising "the efforts of Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Ahmed Mohammed Nasser Al-Sabah in mending Lebanon's relations with its brothers in the Gulf." He affirmed that Lebanon will build on this initiative to strengthen relations with all brothers in the Arab states.
