Saudi Arabia Makes COVID-19 Vaccination Mandatory for Workplace Attendance

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia announced on Friday that obtaining a COVID-19 vaccine will be a mandatory requirement for employees in both the public and private sectors to attend workplaces, without specifying an implementation date. The ministry stated on Twitter, "Obtaining the COVID-19 vaccine will be a mandatory condition for the attendance of male and female employees in all sectors (public, private, and non-profit) at workplaces." The ministry encouraged employees to initiate procedures to obtain the vaccine "to safely and healthily return to the workplaces." Additionally, the ministry indicated that it "will clarify the operational mechanism for this decision and the date of implementation soon."
