YouTuber Solves Mystery of Teenagers' Disappearance After 21 Years

For many years, American police struggled to solve the mystery of two missing teenagers in Tennessee, failing miserably in their efforts. The police could not find any leads in the case, which they eventually admitted, stating they had been searching in the wrong place. However, a YouTuber active on the popular video platform managed to locate a submerged car at the bottom of a river in Tennessee, where human remains believed to belong to the teenagers were found, according to the New York Times.

Jeremy Bechtel (17) and Erin Foster (18) disappeared without a trace in the small town of Sparta in 2000. YouTuber Jeremy Bo Ciyads (42), who specializes in diving and searching for missing items under water, often related to what are known as "cold cases," successfully found a clue.

In November, the famous YouTuber and his team visited the town in search of the teenagers' car. Ciyads and his team used technical tools to search the river and finally located the car. They then sent a team of divers to retrieve it from beneath the water's surface. Footage of the car being pulled out, a Pontiac model, showed that while its exterior was rusted, it appeared largely intact.

The team handed the car and the human remains over to American police. Initially, the human remains found in the submerged vehicle could not be identified, so they were transferred to a more advanced facility for DNA testing and dental record comparisons. Jeremy Bechtel’s father expressed that the family felt as though they had lost their son all over again, saying, "We had some hope that he was still alive."

Over the years, the American police have attempted to find leads to solve the mystery of the teenagers' disappearance with no success. Steve Page, the police chief in White County, where the town is located, informed the famous YouTuber that the police had indeed been searching in the wrong place for the two teens.
