Launch of Production Lines for the First Arab Tablet and Laptop

The Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Group have launched the production lines for the first Arab tablet and laptop product in Egypt, in accordance with the standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Commenting on the partnership, Egyptian Minister of Communications Amr Talaat stated that the collaboration between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Group represents a successful model of integration between the public and private sectors to enhance efforts to localize electronics manufacturing.

He added that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is working according to a specific strategy to make Egypt a leading regional center in the design and manufacture of electronics as part of the presidential initiative "Egypt Manufactures Electronics," which aims to deepen local manufacturing, create added value for manufactured products, and aim to double Egyptian exports of electronics.

For her part, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea mentioned that the project to locally produce tablets and laptops serves as a fundamental pillar for starting the manufacturing of advanced electronic devices in the Egyptian market to meet the needs of both the local market and exports to regional and global markets.

The President of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Lt. Gen. Abdel Moneim El-Tarras, stated that Talal Abu-Ghazaleh has manufacturing capabilities and experience in the production of tablets and laptops and electronic industries according to global quality standards, noting the benefits from the distinguished manufacturing and human capabilities at the Electronics Factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

He further added that the Arab Organization for Industrialization aims through this cooperation to produce an Arab product under the slogan "Made in Egypt" to meet the needs of educational and training institutions within Egypt for tablet and laptop devices, with future expansion into export markets in Africa and the Arab world offering high-quality products at competitive prices according to global quality standards.

He explained that the contribution of the Arab Organization for Industrialization to the manufacturing components is significant, with the objective to increase the percentage of local components in the coming years, affirming that this partnership represents an important step towards deepening local manufacturing and localizing the technology of tablet and laptop production in Egypt and for the Arab and African region.

For his part, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh indicated that the Talal Global Group has transferred and localized modern technology and supplied the latest production lines and smart electronic components in partnership with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, in addition to training the human resources working at the Electronics Factory on tablet and laptop manufacturing, in accordance with international quality levels and the standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He added that the group has set an ambitious plan to establish production lines for tablets and laptops in Egypt, Jordan, and Oman to localize modern technology and train human resources in the field of electronics manufacturing, noting that studies are underway to enhance cooperation with several other Arab countries to strengthen collaboration and partnerships with Arab brothers to produce Arab products with all global specifications for tablets, laptops, smartphones, and modern electronic devices that are compatible with modern educational systems.
