Mortada Mansour, the Chairman of the Egyptian Zamalek Club, denied imposing any penalties or financial fines on Mohamed Abu Jabal, the goalkeeper of the "Pharaohs" and the "White Castle," due to a media appearance. Mansour stated during a press conference held at the Zamalek Club headquarters on Thursday that there was no truth to the reports of any punishment imposed on Mohamed Abu Jabal for appearing with Amr Adib on a television episode after returning from Cameroon with the "Pharaohs" team.
Mansour continued, "Who is Amr Adib for Abu Jabal to appear with him?" adding, "I warned the goalkeeper, but he told me he was unaware of any decision preventing him from appearing with him." He added, "There is no fine, not 50 nor 100, as the corrupt media is spreading, and Abu Jabal told me, I swear to my mother, I don't know that I am prohibited."
Mansour concluded by stating, "Amr Adib continuously insults Zamalek, and if he is a Zamalek fan, how much has he contributed to the club?"
Previously, several press reports indicated Mansour's decision to fine Abu Jabal half a million Egyptian pounds due to his appearance with Amr Adib, despite the existing tensions between the latter and the president of the White Club.
It is noteworthy that the elections for selecting a new board to manage Zamalek Club for the next four years will kick off tomorrow, Friday, with Mansour, the current club president, competing against Ahmed Suleiman for the presidency of the "White Castle."
