Professor Alexander Seryakoff, a specialist in oncology, announced that some moles on the human body can turn into malignant tumors and outlined the signs that indicate this. The Russian doctor stated in an interview with Radio "Sputnik" that moles appear on the human body throughout life, most of which are benign. However, some can evolve into melanoma (skin cancer).
He explains that a mole is the common term for a nevus, which is an accumulation of melanin pigment. Most of these moles are benign and do not become malignant, but it is important to pay attention and monitor moles throughout one’s lifetime.
He further emphasizes the importance of monitoring moles on the body to detect any signs indicating their transformation into malignant tumors. The signs that a mole is becoming malignant include its development, enlargement, changes in shape, increased elevation above the skin, the appearance of ulcers, and hair loss from the surrounding area. Any of these signs should be taken seriously and necessitate a consultation with a doctor, who will decide whether to remove the mole if it appears to be dangerous. If a person ignores these signs, they could quickly develop into melanoma (skin cancer).
