The Coalition for Support of Legitimacy in Yemen announced early Thursday that it has conducted precise airstrikes on legitimate military targets in Sana'a and Sa'ada. The coalition urged civilians to avoid gathering or approaching the targeted sites.
One of the main arms and supply depots was targeted in Sana'a, stating, "We destroyed two sites under construction as storage for military use east of Sana'a." It also added, "We destroyed workshops for assembling ballistic missiles and drones in Sa'ada." The coalition confirmed that precautionary measures were taken to prevent collateral damage to civilians and civilian objects.
Destruction of a Drone
It is worth mentioning that the coalition announced early Wednesday the interception and destruction of a drone after it took off from Sana'a International Airport. In a statement, it said that the drone was intercepted in the skies over 'Amran Governorate after taking off from the Yemeni capital’s airport. It clarified that the drone was assembled and rigged with explosives in the air defense battalion at the airport, revealing that the Houthis attempted to transfer advanced weapons from the battalion after being warned by the coalition.
Complete Bombing of the Battalion
The coalition also stated that it bombed the entire battalion to neutralize the threat from missiles and drones. It mentioned that it had identified the source of the threat from the drone and affirmed that any attempt to target civilians would be met with an immediate response to the threat in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
Secret Site for Revolutionary Guards Experts
On Tuesday morning, the coalition indicated that it targeted a secret site for Iranian Revolutionary Guards experts inside Sana'a. It stated that it destroyed "a site for assembling and storing ballistic missiles within the Yemeni capital." It emphasized that it took "precautionary measures to spare civilians and civilian objects from collateral damage."
Military Base
Since Sunday, the coalition has carried out a number of strikes on locations in Sana'a, most notably the airport, after revealing through pictures and videos its conversion by the militias into a military base for Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah experts. It also disclosed that it targeted significant hubs for qualitative objectives at the Al-Dailami base linked to Sana'a Airport, which contains facilities for assembling and rigging drones and underground platforms for launching ballistic missiles.
