Students at the King Fahd School of Translation in Tangier, Morocco, have accused a professor in the Spanish studies department of showing pornographic videos to a student in class. The institution's council will discuss the complaint today, which the administration received on December 30, according to a responsible administrative source for the "Hespress" agency. The source confirmed that "the meeting will mainly focus on ensuring that classes continue as normal," adding that "the matter is now in the hands of the judiciary after students approached the public prosecutor." The institution has suspended the professor from his duties until all information is thoroughly verified and has replaced him with another instructor.
In the same context, a source from within the higher education teachers' union stated that the issue has been circulating within the institution since December 9, as students visited the teachers' office, believing there was a cover-up of the incident. The source added that the office rejected the notion of a cover-up and insisted on opposing any such practices if they indeed occurred, emphasizing that the case is now with the judiciary and that intervention in its process is not possible.
A senior ministerial source told "Hespress" that the main goal now is to resolve the issue permanently, noting that there is concern about these revelations surfacing now and being forgotten over time. The source highlighted that "there is a committee responsible for addressing all sexual harassment issues and concerns." The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation has requested the resignation of the director of the School of Business and Management in Oujda and has dismissed the secretary-general for negligence in his responsibilities after confirming cases of harassment of female students by professors.
