Title: A Student Apologizes to a Dog: "Humiliating Video" Causes Outrage in Egypt

Title: A Student Apologizes to a Dog:

An Egyptian security source confirmed that the police are examining a video circulated on social media, showing a doctor forcing an elderly nurse to kneel and bow to his dog. The source added that efforts are currently underway to identify the individuals featured in the video to understand the context of the incident and verify whether the footage is recent or from some time ago.

The circulating video, approximately 4 minutes long, captures a scene where a doctor and two others dressed in administrative security uniforms are each holding a rope, while the elderly nurse jumps over it. The doctor appears to chastise the nurse for insulting his dog, subsequently demanding that he kneel and pray to the dog.

The footage shows the victim refusing the doctor's request, stating that he would rather be electrocuted than do that, while the doctor continues to insist on forcing him to comply.

Response from the Medical Syndicate

In response to the incident, Osama Abdel-Hai, the deputy of the Medical Syndicate, commented on the video, stating that they had not received any complaints regarding it. He pointed out that it contains administrative violations and that such behavior is unacceptable, even if intended as a joke, according to Egyptian newspaper "Al-Watan."

The syndicate deputy criticized the doctor's actions, expressing disbelief that punishment would arise from the humiliation of one of his colleagues and that he had no idea the nurse was being punished for the dog's sake. He emphasized that no doctor has the right to punish anyone except through legal procedures.

He considered the incident to fall under the jurisdiction of the administrative prosecution if it occurred in a public hospital, and under the authority of the free treatment department of the Ministry of Health if it happened in a private hospital, urging the Egyptian police to locate this individual and refer him to the appropriate investigative authorities.
