Saudi Arabia Allows Entry for Travelers from 11 Countries Starting Today

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced that, starting today, entry into the Kingdom will be permitted for travelers from the UAE, Germany, the USA, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, France, and Japan. A responsible source from the Saudi Ministry of Interior stated on Saturday, according to the Saudi Press Agency, that this announcement refers to the previous statement dated February 2, 2021, regarding the temporary suspension of entry into the Kingdom for travelers from 20 countries, except for citizens, diplomats, healthcare practitioners, and their families.

This decision is based on the report from the Saudi Public Health Authority regarding the epidemiological situation in several of the announced countries, which showed stability and effective control over the pandemic in some of these nations. The source confirmed that institutional quarantine measures will apply to all eligible travelers from these countries, noting that this will take effect from 1:00 AM on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

The list of the twenty countries from which the entry of non-citizens and non-diplomats was temporarily prohibited starting February 3, included (Argentina, UAE, Germany, USA, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Pakistan, Brazil, Portugal, UK, Turkey, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Lebanon, Egypt, India, and Japan).

The decision also includes travelers from other countries if they have transited through any of those listed countries in the 14 days prior to requesting entry into the Kingdom. Entry for Saudi citizens, diplomats, healthcare practitioners, and their families coming from these countries, or who have transited through any of these countries within the last 14 days prior to returning to the Kingdom, will be according to the precautionary measures established by the Saudi Ministry of Health.
