Saudi Arabia Designates Lebanese Association as

Saudi Arabia issued a decision on Wednesday to classify the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association in Lebanon as a terrorist entity due to its ties to activities supporting the terrorist organization Hezbollah. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the Kingdom, represented by the Presidency of State Security, has designated the Association (Al-Qard Al-Hassan), located in Lebanon, as a terrorist entity for its connections to supportive activities for Hezbollah, including managing funds for the organization and financing military purposes.

According to the agency, Saudi Arabia will continue to work to combat the terrorist activities of Hezbollah and coordinate with international allies to target the financial support sources of the organization, whether they are individuals or entities, in order to reduce its terrorist and criminal activities worldwide.

The decision clarified that "based on the Anti-Terrorism and its Financing Crimes Law, issued by Royal Decree No. (m/21) dated 12/2/1439H, and the executive mechanisms of the relevant Security Council resolutions related to combating terrorism and its financing, including Security Council Resolution No. 1373 (2001), which targets providers of support to terrorists or terrorist acts, all assets belonging to the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association within the Kingdom must be frozen. Furthermore, any direct or indirect dealings with or for the benefit of the Association are prohibited, by financial institutions, designated non-financial businesses, and all legal and natural persons. Legal measures will be taken against anyone who is found to have a relationship with the aforementioned Association or its officials."
