Have you ever wondered why there is a color difference between white and brown eggs, which we consider a staple in our lives and a very important element in our diet? The answer is quite simple: there is no actual difference between them. Lebanese nutritionist Carla Habib Murad explained that the color difference is due to the fact that white eggs come from white hens, while brown eggs come from red hens.
Regarding nutritional value, she stated on her Instagram account that there is no difference at all between them, as both carry exactly the same health benefits and drawbacks when consumed excessively. However, what affects the quality of the eggs is strictly related to what the hen is fed. If a hen is fed a diet high in Omega-3, it will produce eggs rich in this vitamin. If the hen is allowed to roam outside, it will get Vitamin C from sunlight, resulting in eggs abundant in this vitamin.
It is worth mentioning that eggs have many benefits, and according to recent studies, consuming one egg daily can reduce the risk of stroke and help prevent certain heart-related diseases, not to mention their richness in vitamins and minerals, with Vitamin C being one of the most important.
