A nutrition expert stated that to restore health after recovering from COVID-19, it is best to temporarily avoid consuming black tea and coffee. Russian expert Dr. Angelika Dival revealed that drinks can have an effect on the body and help restore health during and after recovery from the illness, according to a talk on Sputnik Radio.
According to her, water should be the primary beverage during the illness and after recovery from COVID-19; however, to gain strength in a short period, fruit-infused drinks can be added. She suggests: "Take two liters of water, heat it to 80 degrees Celsius, and add about 200 grams of strawberries or blueberries, or other fruits, then use a blender to create a healthy fruit drink."
She adds: "To preserve the vitamins and nutrients in the fruits, it is not advisable to boil the mixture. Green tea with fruits can also be consumed." She continues: "Steep two tablespoons of green tea in one and a half liters of water, add two slices of orange and two tablespoons of fresh or frozen fruits, and it is not recommended to add sugar; it is better to add peeled apple slices. Then let the drink sit for 40-50 minutes before drinking it throughout the day."
She added: "If the drink cools down, you can add hot boiling water to it." She explained that during the post-recovery period from COVID-19, one should refrain from consuming black tea and coffee. Additionally, sweetened carbonated water and canned juices can be added, but it is preferable to prepare them at home.
