Abu Dhabi Sports Channel has announced that it has acquired the broadcasting rights for the FIFA Club World Cup 2021 in three countries: the UAE, Egypt, and Kuwait. Through its official page on social media platform Twitter, Abu Dhabi Sports confirmed its official acquisition of the rights to broadcast the Club World Cup in these three nations.
The announcement stated: "Abu Dhabi Media Company announces that Abu Dhabi Sports Channels have obtained the broadcast rights for the FIFA Club World Cup 2021 in the UAE, Egypt, and Kuwait."
It added: "This comes as part of the company's efforts to enhance the sports and digital content it offers to the audience, in line with its strategic goals."
The broadcasts will start via the STARZPLAY app, a leading video-on-demand service in the Middle East and North Africa. It is worth noting that the Saudi channel "SSC" has obtained the broadcasting rights for the Club World Cup exclusively within the Kingdom.
The Club World Cup is set to be held for the fifth time in the UAE, from February 3 to 12 next year. The upcoming edition of the tournament will feature three Arab clubs: Al Jazira from the UAE, Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia, and Al Ahly from Egypt. The tournament will kick off on February 3 with a match between Al Jazira, the host country representative, and Péri from Tahiti.
