The dome of Al Wasl Plaza at "Expo 2020 Dubai" was adorned with a presentation of the poem "Zayed Visited Her" two days ago, coinciding with the seventeenth anniversary of the passing of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, which took place on November 2, 2004. This was a message of loyalty and gratitude for the founder's contribution, whose kind memory remains in the hearts of the Islamic and Arab nations and all who knew him around the world.
The poem was written by poet Ali Al Khawwar, performed by the Emirates Coral, and composed by the expressive musician Fayez Al Saeed. The images and videos presented on the giant dome of Al Wasl Plaza were selected from the library of photographer Ramesh and the National Archive, many of which were displayed for the first time.
The poem "Zayed Visited Her" includes the lines:
"Zayed visited her... and added to her beauty,
And the reality of his presence smiled along with imagination.
He saw his dream in our great achievements,
He saw his spirit in our loyalty that still exists.
Zayed’s soul resides in every heart,
In our hope, in our giving, and ambition.
His legacy remains... and cannot fade,
Rooted in our hearts like the anchor of mountains.
Expo in Dubai makes the country proud,
Her people outpour with love and grace.
Zayed visited her... beautified her... and added,
Like a cloud rich with rain and shadows.
The house of Zayed stands tall, dignified,
Uniting the world with love and respect.
Zayed's legacy for coexistence... for peace,
With it, we coexist... and his approach continues."
Preceding the light show was a prayer for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, by the reciter Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, to which attendees raised their hands in prayer for the founding father, asking the Most Merciful to honor his dwelling and reward his contributions to Muslims in their good deeds.
Nehela bin Fahad Al Mehairi, Director of Emirati Content at "Expo 2020 Dubai," said: "The special poem 'Zayed Visited Her' was written in a manner and with words that embody our idea and imagination, allowing us to feel through the display of images and videos of Sheikh Zayed that he truly visited us at 'Expo' and saw the achievement that united the countries of the world. His visit added beauty to the dome of Al Wasl Plaza and the location of 'Expo'; the reality of his presence smiled along with imagination; for all the achievements attained in the beloved UAE are the fruits of the seeds planted by our founding father, may his soul rest in peace."
Visitors to "Expo 2020 Dubai" will be able to see the special light show, filled with a deep sense of gratitude and love for the founder of the state and maker of its glory, blending feelings of pride with the achievements made by the UAE and its people under the vision of our wise leadership. The show will continue throughout the month of November.
