Lose Excess Weight Without Harsh Diets in 2022

An Australian nutritionist shared her tips on diet and exercise for sustainable fat loss in 2022. In a post on Instagram, personal trainer Meg Burke from Sydney stated that it is time to say goodbye to fad diets, adding, "Often, people overcomplicate the path to achieving their goals. You don’t need to do anything drastic. Just make sure to stick to the basics daily."

Meg begins by suggesting setting a target for the amount of water to drink each day and ensuring it is met. She says, "Keeping the body hydrated is essential for weight loss, overall health, maintaining energy, improving performance, combating hunger, protecting skin, digestion, and many other trendy goals."

She advised focusing on proteins rather than cutting out all the foods you enjoy to achieve weight loss, emphasizing moderate integration of proteins into your diet while providing your body with enough calories.

Meg stated that sleep is often overlooked, but it is vital for improving energy levels and performance in the gym. She recommends weight lifting as the best exercise for weight loss, finding a training pattern you enjoy, and committing to weekly sessions, while gradually increasing the intensity of your workouts.

Meg mentioned that she sets a "non-negotiable" goal and urges achieving it daily. She advised against relying on the number on the scale to track progress but instead to take photos and measurements. She suggested not eliminating carbohydrates or sugar and to include strength training exercises.

Additionally, she clarified that to lose fat, one must be in a calorie deficit, emphasizing that there are no foods that "burn fat" and that cardio exercises are often overhyped for fat loss, according to the British newspaper Daily Mail.
