September is Crucial... And "The Party" to Houckstein: Don't Delay or Else

September is Crucial... And

Next September, Lebanon is expected to witness a significant event that will be critical from both security and political perspectives. Israel is scheduled to extract gas from the "Karis" field, a move that Hezbollah opposes until a border demarcation agreement with Lebanon is reached, granting Lebanon the right to extract gas. Amid the flurry of developments, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, during a ceremony laying the cornerstone for the Janta tourist attraction called "The Story of the First Shot," indicated that "if the U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein comes and gives the Lebanese state what it demands, we are 'heading towards calm' whether the nuclear agreement is signed or not."

He emphasized that if the Lebanese state is not given what it demands, then "we are 'heading towards escalation'." In this context, Nasrallah has again held Hochstein responsible for the procrastination and wasting of time, dismissing the possibility of an agreement before or after September. However, a sense of pessimism is prevalent among American mediators, according to sources monitoring the situation for "Akhbar Al-Yawm," as their final answers from the Israeli entity do not favor Lebanon. They are facing a dilemma with "Israeli hawks," who advocate for escalation and the destruction of the southern suburbs. Additionally, Nasrallah's threats seem to verge on psychological warfare to convince Israel of the seriousness of the situation and to persuade his base of its necessity, indicating that this matter is not connected to regional axes. The second point is the power represented by the party’s rockets and the ability to inflict significant damage on the Israeli oil industry.

According to observers, Nasrallah's ongoing threats will render any settlement unattainable, pushing Israeli officials towards stricter stances. Consequently, this marks a clear victory for the party following a calculated escalation through drones and rocket platforms they have prepared, designating September as a deadline before the destruction of "Karis."
