Mbappé Scores "Lightning Speed" Goal in Ligue 1

Mbappé Scores

Kylian Mbappé set a new record during Paris Saint-Germain's emphatic 7-1 victory over Lille, which concluded the third round of Ligue 1 on Sunday. PSG opened the scoring just 8 seconds into the match when Argentine star Lionel Messi made a clever forward pass to Mbappé, who broke the offside trap and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Jardim.

Mbappé matched the record for the fastest goal in Ligue 1, previously held by Michel Rio, who scored after 8 seconds in 1992 while playing for Caen.

The seven goals for PSG came from Kylian Mbappé (a hat-trick), Lionel Messi, Achraf Hakimi, and Neymar (two goals) in the 1st, 28th, 39th, 44th, 52nd, 66th, and 87th minutes, while Jonathan Bamba netted Lille's only goal in the 54th minute.

This victory marks PSG's third consecutive win since the start of the league, having defeated Clermont 5-0 and Montpellier 5-2. They also triumphed over Nantes with a 4-0 win in the Trophée des Champions, scoring a total of 21 goals in 4 matches, averaging 5 goals per game. PSG has maintained an unbeaten record in their last 11 Ligue 1 matches.

PSG's points tally now stands at 9, placing them at the top of the table with a perfect score, while Lille remains at 4 points in the 10th position.
