The Kuwaiti criminal court sentenced Hakim Abisan Al-Mutairi to life imprisonment on Monday in a state security case known in the media as the "Gaddafi Leaks." It is worth noting that the convicted Hakim Al-Mutairi still has the option to appeal and contest the ruling. In 2020, secret leaks from the tent of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi circulated, including a recorded clip of the Brotherhood member Al-Mutairi asking for financial support to create unrest and disturbances in his country. In the leaked recordings, Al-Mutairi presented Gaddafi with a media project aimed at destabilizing the region and spreading chaos. Al-Mutairi told Gaddafi that his party could not establish a satellite channel or daily newspaper due to a lack of funding, "which is why we tried to collect donations from some businessmen." He further added in his "plea" to Gaddafi that the donors were afraid of direct and substantial support because it involved a political party characterized as "revolutionary," according to his statement.
