The city of Dubai witnessed the sale of a car plate with a special number for 35 million UAE dirhams (around $9.5 million), making it one of the most expensive car numbers in the world. A special phone number was also sold for 5 million dirhams ($1.36 million). On Saturday evening, Dubai organized an auction for car plates with special numbers and similar phone numbers, raising a total of 53 million dirhams ($14.4 million) in less than two hours. The entire amount will go to support the "One Billion Meals" initiative, a charitable initiative launched by the UAE to provide food assistance to the poor and needy in 50 countries.
The charity auction recorded its proceeds after a bidding session among a group of humanitarian and business leaders. The auction, named "Noblest Number," featured the sale of the car plate numbered (AA/8) for 35 million dirhams, while the phone number (0549999999) sold for 5 million dirhams. Additionally, several special numbers for vehicle plates in Dubai were sold, including three distinctive two-digit numbers (F/55), (V/66), and (Y/66). The number (F/55) was sold for 4 million dirhams, while (V/66) fetched the same amount, and (Y/66) brought in 3.8 million dirhams.
