Title: Salah: If Liverpool Wants Me to Leave, That's Different

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's top scorer, revealed that he is uncertain whether he can agree to sign a new contract with his team. He confirmed that negotiations with the Premier League club are not solely about money. The Premier League's leading scorer is leading Liverpool in their quest for an unprecedented four titles this season, marking his first such effort since joining the team in 2017 from Roma.

The Egyptian international has been negotiating with Liverpool for some time regarding the extension of his contract, which is set to expire at the end of next season. However, Salah affirms that the current point of contention does not concern money. Speaking to the online magazine "FourFourTwo," he expressed his uncertainty about staying at Anfield for many more years: "I don’t know, there is one year left on my contract. I think the fans know what I want, but the contract is not about money at all. So I don’t know and I can’t tell you what it is exactly."

The 29-year-old player confirmed that his desire has always been to remain at Liverpool, explaining, "Yes. This club means a lot to me; I have enjoyed football here more than anywhere else. I have given everything to the club, and everyone has seen that." He added, "I have experienced many wonderful moments here, won titles, scored goals, as well as achieved individual accolades. It feels like family."

The captain of the Egyptian national team insisted that he is not worried about starting the final year of his contract with Liverpool without reaching a solution regarding its extension. He stated, "I do not feel worried; I don’t let myself worry about something. The season is not over yet, so let’s finish it in the best possible way; that’s the most important thing, then in the last year, we will see what happens."

When asked about rumors concerning his departure from the club this summer if an agreement on his contract extension is not reached, Salah confidently responded that he fully expects to remain at Liverpool next season regardless of negotiations. "Yes, I believe so," he said, adding jokingly, "but if they want me to leave, that’s different." Liverpool has consistently expressed their desire for Salah to stay.

Salah has strengthened his lead in the Premier League scoring charts with 22 goals, five goals ahead of South Korean Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur, thanks to a brace against Manchester United on Tuesday.
