Aoun Meets Berri: Hopes for the New Council to Face Challenges

President Michel Aoun expressed his hope that the new parliament would be able to confront the current challenges on various levels and contribute to saving Lebanon from the economic and social crisis by enacting necessary legislation and laws to achieve the essential economic revival for the country.

President Aoun's remarks came during his meeting with Speaker of the House Nabih Berri, Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab, and members of the parliamentary office: Alain Aoun, Michel Moussa, Hagop Pakradounian, and Karim Kabbara, who visited Baabda Palace on the occasion of their election, in accordance with tradition.

Speaker Berri arrived at Baabda Palace around 3 PM, where he reviewed a group from the Republican Guard in the outer courtyard before heading to President Aoun's office, who welcomed him at the entrance and congratulated him on his election, wishing him success. They discussed topics related to upcoming constitutional obligations and how to address various unresolved issues.

Afterward, the members of the parliamentary office joined the President of the Republic and the President of the Parliament.

Following a commemorative photo session, Speaker Berri and the parliamentary office members departed from the President's office.

When asked if the discussion with President Aoun included the mandatory parliamentary consultations, Speaker Berri simply said, "Without a doubt."
