The official spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Health, Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aali, confirmed that the epidemic curve in the Kingdom has started to decline clearly. During a press conference regarding the updates on the spread of the coronavirus, the spokesperson stated that vaccines have had a significant impact on the decrease in daily infections and critical cases. He noted that over 60 million vaccine doses have been administered, and 24 million people have received two doses of those vaccines, according to the newspaper "Al-Riyadh."
The spokesperson explained that "the curve of critical cases is experiencing a clear and continuous decline," indicating that most critical infections in intensive care units are significantly higher among those who have not received the initial or booster doses of the vaccines. The total number of officially recorded infections in Saudi Arabia stands at 739,344 cases since the pandemic began, with the death toll at 8,984 cases, while the number of critical cases is 832. The Saudi Ministry of Health announced yesterday, Sunday, the registration of 1,013 new COVID-19 cases and one death.
