The National News Agency reported that the Sihmar Municipality and the crisis cell issued a statement regarding the decisions made after the emergency meeting to control the spread of the Coronavirus. The municipality's statement included a complete closure of the town starting from Thursday morning, February 11, 2021, until Sunday morning, February 14, 2021. All types of visits, meetings, and gatherings, including family gatherings, are suspended since most infections result from family interactions.
The statement noted that movement within the town is prohibited for any reason. In case of emergencies, contact the crisis cell through the provided phone numbers on social media, and street vendors are prohibited from entering during the closure period. The statement exempts the crisis cell teams, medical and emergency teams, health centers, and members of the municipal council from the movement restrictions. Additionally, the Al-Ammar bakery is ready to deliver orders to homes via contact at 749 587 /71 or 663 635 /08.
The statement pointed out that pharmacies will fulfill all requests through phone communication with the pharmacy. It urged the town's residents to secure all necessary household supplies by Wednesday, February 10, 2021, and any movement during the closure period will be considered a violation subject to legal penalties.
The statement also mentioned that patrols will be activated in the neighborhoods to control any gatherings, even if they are family-related. It urged all our residents who have been in contact to undergo PCR testing on Wednesday, exclusively during the closure period.
