The Syrian artist Dreid Laham rejected five projects offered to him because he felt they would diminish his artistic heritage throughout his career. He stated that he would not accept any work that does not add to his previous journey, which allows him to maintain the legacy he has achieved over the years, expressing that his future is not ahead of him but rather behind him, where his heritage lies.
He also explained his reason for declining a role in the series "Al-Kindosh," stating that his role was ordinary and did not contribute anything to his artistic career. Regarding his stance on social media, Dreid Laham strongly criticizes social networking sites, as he noted that most people use them for harmful purposes. He pointed out that harmful content is enticing to people, who quickly believe and follow it without verifying the news. It is worth mentioning that rumors circulated about Dreid Laham, including news of his death last year, which was denied by the Syrian Artists Syndicate in Damascus.
According to the Fuchsia website, Laham compared social media to a car, describing that while a car was invented to help us reach our desired goals, it can also cause harm by running someone over.
