Professor Anatoly Alshtein from the Russian "Gamalei" Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Research announced that there may be some marks left on the skin of a person who has recovered from monkeypox. However, he stated: "It cannot be said that monkeypox disfigures a person." He further explained: "The disease may leave some small scars, but the likelihood of these scars remaining is not high. That is, monkeypox does not leave marks like those left by human smallpox. It also does not cause any changes in the body. This means that the infected person completely recovers from the disease." According to experts, the infection is transmitted through respiratory droplets during close contact with an infected person. Patients recover completely within 2-4 weeks. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and fatigue. The concerning aspect of the infection is the rash that can cover the entire body. This rash goes through several stages before turning into scabs that eventually fall off.
