Spanish media reported yesterday that tension is prevalent between Barcelona president Joan Laporta and his Dutch coach Ronald Koeman, as their recent meeting yielded no notable results. However, the newspaper "AS," through a leak from the Spanish channel "TV3," revealed that Koeman received a very severe insult from Laporta, which has left him extremely angry. The report stated that Laporta asked Koeman to wait 15 days for the club to sort out its affairs, indicating that if an agreement is reached with a new coach, the Dutchman will be dismissed from the team. If nothing happens, he might remain under his current contract until the summer of 2022. The newspaper noted that Koeman was furious and considered this an unprecedented insult, bringing him closer to leaving. However, Koeman and his agent do not wish to resign, placing Laporta in a genuine predicament, as he would have to pay €12 million for the remaining year of Koeman's salary, along with several months of arrears, to sever ties with him.
