Scary videos featuring three individuals risking their lives by climbing to the top of a crane in Gold Coast, eastern Australia, have gone viral on social media, according to the British "Daily Mail." The reckless young men filmed themselves hanging from dangerous heights atop a construction crane from a Meriton site in Surfers Paradise. The footage shows the young men flirting with death, which was shared on social media and YouTube. The videos capture them scaling what is described as the tallest crane in Gold Coast shortly before sunset while closely monitoring helicopters seen flying in the area.
Once at the summit, one clip shows one of them taking an even greater risk by standing on top of the crane without any restraints. He then ties his leg to the crane and leans back while hanging off the edge for several minutes, capturing a selfie. In the video, he can be heard saying, "It has been my dream... and now I’m doing it." According to the "Daily Mail," the man could have faced a fatal fall in just seven seconds if the dangerous stunt had gone wrong. The crane stands at a height of 250 meters or 31 stories.
The police are searching for the three daredevils, who they referred to as "troublemakers," after they filmed themselves climbing and hanging from a tall construction crane. They captioned a post, "Stupidity at its finest." The reckless individuals attempted to obscure their faces and voices in the footage, which was still available online as of Tuesday morning, but they were unsuccessful. The young men face hefty fines and could potentially be jailed for a year if tracked down by the police.
