Why You Should Clean Your Belly Button Regularly

When it comes to personal hygiene, many people often overlook cleaning the belly button. Although it is a small part of the body, it requires cleaning just like the other body parts. A previous study from 2012 found that 67 different types of bacteria are present in the belly button of an average person, making regular cleaning essential.

Most people's belly buttons have crevices that can collect dirt and bacteria. This was discovered by a woman when her husband asked for help cleaning his belly button after he felt pain in it. The wife was horrified when she started digging into his belly button before eventually pulling something out.

Dr. Karan Rajan, who is popular on TikTok, explained that if someone experiences white, brown, or yellow discharge leaking from their belly button, it is likely that an infection is brewing in that area. He stated, "All body cavities can accumulate sweat, dead skin cells, oils, fabric fibers, and bacteria, and if they are not washed regularly, these materials can build up and harden in the belly button."

If you neglect to clean your belly button, you may face a range of issues, and a yeast infection is inevitable if you ignore hygiene in that area. The belly button is a breeding ground for bacteria due to its dark, damp environment, which can lead to yeast infections.

Cleaning your belly button can help you avoid potential infections, odors, and other consequences of poor hygiene, according to the British newspaper Mirror.
