New Turkish Forces Enter Syria, Fears of Potential Confrontation

Under the title "New Turkish Forces Enter Syria, Fears of Potential Confrontation," Sky News Arabia reported that Turkish media revealed a military convoy comprising tanks, armored vehicles, and troop carriers entered Syrian territory through the Kafr Lusin crossing in the Idlib countryside, on the border between the two countries. According to the Turkish website "Ahval," sources in the opposition warned of a potential clash between Turkish forces and Syrian forces, while the latter engage in intense confrontations with armed militia loyal to Ankara in the Aleppo countryside, coinciding with Russian aerial bombardments of areas in southern and western Idlib. The same sources indicated that the military convoy headed to Turkish military points in the southern and western Idlib countryside, including a Turkish army point in the village of Blion in the Jabal al-Zawiya region. The clashes and aerial bombardments in opposition-held areas in Aleppo and Idlib coincide with the ongoing reinforcement of military personnel by government forces in those areas, as well as Turkey sending military reinforcements to its positions in Idlib countryside. There are fears of confrontations erupting between Turkish forces and their affiliated militias on one side, and the Syrian army and its allied militias on the other, especially after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently described the Syrian government as "a danger to Turkey," according to "Ahval." Damascus has repeatedly asserted that its forces are determined to liberate all its territory, including areas controlled by Turkish forces, which it describes as occupying. Turkey aims to expand its military presence in northern Syria and seeks to change the identity of the areas under its control through various affiliated centers.
