Media sources have revealed the date for actress Rania Youssef's trial, as set by the Egyptian misdemeanors court, following her bold public statements deemed indecent.
The sources indicated that her trial is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, as announced by investigative authorities in Egypt, after a complaint was filed against her by a lawyer regarding her appearance on a television interview where she spoke about her backside in an unseemly manner. The investigative bodies received an additional eight complaints against actress Rania Youssef due to her recent controversial television statements.
The Egyptian actress became the talk of social media after her shocking comment during one of her appearances, describing her "backside" as special, when interviewer Nizar El-Fares asked her about her appearance at the closing ceremony of the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival, where she wore a transparent white dress that highlighted her curves. She stunned the audience with her remark, trying to defend herself by saying: “My backside is just like all the actresses’ backsides, but maybe mine is special.”
Rania Youssef's ex-husband, producer Mohamed Mokhtar, criticized her statements, expressing his shock at her boasting about it, stating: “I haven't seen that video, nor do I want to see it. I have nothing to do with her at all, and I don't want to know anything about her.”
Rania Youssef's latest works include the second part of "Akleenha Wala," in addition to her participation in the series "Mamlaket Iblis" and "El-Haramy," which aired during the last Ramadan season.
